Ornament, Golden Koi and Cherry Blossom – CO183

In Japan, the koi represents perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. The strongest fish will swim upstream until it reaches the final waterfall where it vaults into the mists and becomes a water dragon. Based on that legend the koi has become a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement. Because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals. Each hand-blown glass ornament is hand painted in reverse on the inside of the glass. Choosing from a selection of miniature curved shaft brushes, the artist hand paints each ornament in exquisite detail. Carefully, the brush is repeatedly inserted through the opening of the glass, initiatlly to outline the design, followed by the detailed application of the colors one by one. Each piece is unique, no two pieces are ever identical. Included with each ornament is a traditional red fabric box, ideal for gift giving and storage. Each hand painted glass ornament is a keepsake to be treasured for generations.

This product looked better when it arrived than it did it the photo shown. It also arrived a few days ahead of schedule. As for the product itself, it looked lovely and it should look fantastic on a Christmas tree. It was my fault I ordered it too late to put on this year’s tree (it arrived a day or two after), but I was pleased that it arrived in one piece. And I’m very pleased with the product itself.
